Works in progress... sort of

Here are some more of my AHHH hexies from Tonya at Hillbilly Handiworks. I am really enjoying making these and have finished one of last Thursday's with another ready to go but here is a picture of the last four. One was a WIP and the crostoli on the plate was every bit as delicious as it looked. I hasten to add that I didn't eat it all, I had help from some of my sewing group friends.

my Clare bear would like to join in

Here is my version of Melody's Clare bear. I think she looks pretty much like her sister... Mel's pattern turned out well. My Clare is sitting amongst the strawberry plants so maybe she'll share a strawberry or two if there are any.

Just takes 2 blocks

Seems like I got sucked into another freebie on the net. Just Takes 2 is being run by the lady that did Dear Jane and Dear Hannah ( one day I will do the latter for my Hannah) and Sentimental Stitches. I love the red and white but as I had a mountain of blue that's what I chose to use... surprise surprise. ( those that know me know that blue is my favourite colour) Why does the computer or camera turn my photos around?

Here are the first 11 blocks, some are 6.5 " some 8.5 " some 12" and up to now I had a bit of difficulty with the fan block, the house block and one of the stars. I put a row upside down!!!

I am enjoying these blocks though and I know that lots of people are joining in the fun.

Happy Australia Day to those of us down under

Star AHHH's

Have caught up with the star AHHH's. I loved the first one so made it twice using some fat quarters that DS2's girlfriend bought for my birthday ( what a clever girl) The split star I am not so fond of as it got very skinny at the points and was very hard to keep on the papers. Might need to glue if I do this one again. Still enjoying these but I hope the stars don't get too much skinnier. Thanks to Tonya at Hillbilly Handiworks for these challenging hexies.

Scissor swap at last

At long last I have managed to get the energy to photograph all the beautiful things that Marg sent me in the Scissor Keep swap run by Sandy at Cookies and Cream. I sent Marg a thumb pin cushion, a Gail Pan design pin cushion, a scissor keep with scissors and a tassle , a needle case and a bag to keep them in.

Marg's gift to me was a scissor keep with scissors and a tassle, a pin cushion, a mug bag with mug, a mug rug, a needle case with a panda measuring tape ( one ear painted black and the one you pull out in reverse... think that was an oops on the manufacturers part but it makes it quirky which I love) a folder with cover ( have used it to make my 2012 list!) and a blue bird deco. All came wrapped in four parcels with butterflies stuck to the paper. As I explained to Marg when I thanked her, I feel that my boy ,Christopher ,is now a butterfly having seen so many following his death in November so they were very special. I put them on photos of all my children so perfect.

Thank you to all who commented on the post about Christopher, your messages brought many tears but it was wonderful to know that so many people who only know me through the blog care. I go back and read the post and the comments often and they do bring a lot of comfort.

more AHHH hexies

I have caught up with the latest "spiderweb" hexies. Think the star ones are more to my liking but I am enjoying doing all of them so the end result will be interesting. I am using any scraps that I can find with the idea of them all having flowers, plains and a tone on tone or the like. Think I am still within those perimeters.

The Picnic

Today is Teddy Bears Picnic, although these two are not Teddy Bears they would love to come on the picnic. The old fellow thinks that if he doesn't have a break now he won't get one for quite a while, both " Patchwork Santa" and "So Deer to my Heart" Mrs Deer and Babies could be a bit over dressed, as it is a very warm day in Melbourne. Wishing all our friends in Blogg land a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New year, Hugs from Rosalie. Over at Melody's Blog you can meet other Picnic friends.
