Just a bit spoilt

Yesterday I received my May hexie from Carolyn, and my May 12" block from Cheryl. Today the postie delivered a huge parcel from Robyn which contained my block, a pin cushion, a needle book and heaps of embroidery threads. They will come in very handy as I love doing stitcheries. I also got the block from Robyn that the red had run in it so I'm going to see if I can do anything about the run. Have heard that natural yoghurt will take out dye runs so I'm going to have a go.

Love both my star blocks and the hexie fits in perfectly with the others I already have. I'm sure you can all see the colours I favour!!!

Teddy Bears Picnic

This little Harrods bear is an opp shop find, when my husband and I were in England last year I didn't indulge in a Harrods bear, couldn't spare the cash, so when I found this little fellow I was happy to pay two dollars for him, he is a good little memento of a wonderful holiday. he would like to join others at Melody's Tedy bears Picnic.

Friday Night stitch in

Hmm so much for stitching. I spent yesterday afternoon sewing part of " My Town" , the school block. This is before I stitched it. The children have to go on yet and I think some have been kept in as I don't know if they'll all fit.
I also did some knitting but afterknitting almost two balls I think it's going to be too big so back to square one. It will eventually be a vest for DS1 in Canberra. I'll show when it's done!

Where's the picnic????

Is anyone joining me today? Here is a picture of my son's Dr bear. He's all ready to go in and operate with his green scrubs. I think DS1 got him on one of his many hospital visits in his early years ( he's now 26 and just relocated to Canberra and doesn't need the DR's as much touch wood!)The other bear with him is one I made many years ago at the local Baptist church craft group. I joined this group to have a little sanity after 4 children( 2 with medical probs, ) and loved it. I had already made a bear with Melody so made this one. He's acrylic so a bit fatter than he should be and I discovered last night that the moths have been at his beautiful handknitted New Zealand wool jumper. Ah well despite the holes it will keep him worm at the picnic. Hopefully others will be on the picnic here

Harrison is a bit late

Here is Harrison. He has a device in his neck that connects to his tail so he can turn his head from side to side. That was a challenge but it worked. Been a very cold wintry day here but I think everyone will enjoy the picnic. Join in here for other picnicers

Teddy Bears Picnic

"O' Hare and Eski"
would like to go to the picnic today, we have had such a blast of icy weather in Melbourne, Eski will feel quite at home, O' Hare is warmly dressed in his Jacket, Leggings and Turban. They were both made from a Kit from Kympatti Bears in Queensland and are 6 inches. I hope everyone has a lovely Picnic, stay warm, P'S I'm sorry my photo's are so small, I'm not sure why. Cheers R
Hi Rosalie, I've just edited and changed the size of your picture so that people can see how delightful your little bears are.  Hopefully I've also got a link working for you, Mel

The three wise wiggles are coming on the picnic

Here are the" three wise wiggles" a trio of mischievous little bears. They are from a pattern by Definitely Different Bears and as you can see they are all done in different mohair. Basically the same bear just hand positions changed. I think they are cute and they were fun to make. Join in here for more picnic goers. It's nice and sunny here today but the ground is a bit soggy so it's a perfect day for a picnic.
