Hunter's Star

A work in progress

The 8 times 15 triangles sewn for the next part of this quilt.

Sunday 16th July saw me at a class learning this block.. Hunter's Star. Using lots of scraps and I love it. As that day should have been DS1's 32 birthday this quilt will be "Christopher's Star" I just need now to lay all those triangles out and see which should go where. It's scrappy so I think it will look good no matter where I put them.

Rosette no 5 in Millefiore ( Katje Marek). It almost has a 3D effect when looked at like this. Very happy with this one , despite my earlier oops!

This is the centre for no 6. I just need a couple of other fabrics and I can get this all together.
Think yesterday should have been an EPP day at Hibiscus stitching so when I have a chance (and when the link is up) I will link.
Off to Jeff's shed on Sat for the quilt show.

Another rosette started but .... oops

The next rosette is started on the millefiore quilt a long. I am so pleased with the fussy cutting on the centre and just love it. Started on the second round and kept thinking that the hexies look a bit small. Well can you spot the obvious mistake???

Here is one on top of the other and yes it's the centre one that is too big not the other way round. Darn it! Should have realised as  when I was cutting the diamonds I knew they were 1.75 " big so that of course makes 3.5" along the edge not 3", so it's back to the drawing board. At least I only have to make one hexie and not six so as the song goes.... always look on the bright side of life.

Going to link with Anthea at Hibiscus stitching for her piece it together.

July PH

July perpetual hexie together, just need to put it on the background. Love the colours in this one and think it will fit in with the others beautifully.

This is the 4th rosette of the Millefiore quilt a long. Think this is the last really big one. Again I am really not sure about the colours but I am not unpulling anything. Will be interesting to see how it fits in with the others. The more I look at it the more I like it but we will see.

Have got 200 clamshells ready to go into blocks so they are growing and they will be the go to project when I don't have anything else.
