Teddy Bears Picnic

Can elderly citizens join in the Picnic? This is Grandma she is young at heart, needs her walking stick, but is quite steady on her feet, she would love to meet with the young things at Melody's Teddy Bears Picnic. I made Grandma from a "Teddy Works " pattern. I love her Twin set, come to think of it I love her.

FNSI

I spent a lovely night finishing off two of the "Out of the Box" blocks which have been hanging over my head for a while. Having taken the photo I decided that the purple heart buttons don't match so I have a couple of bigger red ones to put on the block. I also have to put beads on the hexie. I intend to try quilting these blocks myself and then they will go to a friend who has a charity which donates quilts to the Royal Children's Hospital in Victoria. Her charity is known as "Inspirational Quilts" and has a website but I don't know the full address.

The other stitching I did was slightly different. Having joined Kilmore Quilters, I attended a meeting on Weds with Mel, and a lady there asked us to knit these slippers to be donated to a nursing home in the local area. One pair down and 3 more to go. They look more like handbags but when on feet they are like Mary Jane shoes. Look at this too... I knitted green ones!!! ( not a big fan of green)

Harrison and friends

Harrison and his two mates would like to join in the picnic. Harrison is a "Shaz" bear and I loved his blue check overalls which is why he came home with me. The other one is made by Robyn Oswin and as I am not a green lover can't think why he appealed but he did. I think he has lead pellets in his body and legs as he is quite a heavy bear despite his size. May have to keep him away from too much food. The smallest bear in the photo is one made from a pipecleaner. Can't remember how to do it now but as you can see by the 5c piece he's only about an inch tall. Join in the picnic here

Teddy Bears Picnic

Tusker and Tess would like to join the Picnic today, because of their circus training perhaps they could help with some entertainment. We have been promised some sunshine in Melbourne today so Tess's skimpy costume won't be a problem I hope. Tusker and Tess are from Kympatti Bears in Queensland where I bought thr Pattern and Kit. Tusker is 10 inches and Tess 5 inches. Go to Melody's blog for more Picnicers.

heffalump but no woozle for the picnic

Here is my baby elephant who wants to join in the picnic. As you can see he's sitting on a 800 m cotton spool so that shows how small he is . Stretched out he measures 5 inches. Very very wet today so we have to have an inside picnic today. I do love to hear the rain though, as long as I'm curled up warm and cosy by the fire. Join here for the picnic

Teddy Bears Picnic

Toby and Tiger would like to come on the Picnic today. they are a bit late, Blogger did not want to work. Tiger is a well behaved little Dog I'm sure he would not cause any trouble. I made Toby and Tiger in a previous life, when The Village Quilters were The Village Bear Makers

felt pin cushions

Rosalie's Liz's
Karin's

Karin, Rosalie and I decided that we would all have a go at making the felt pincushions after seeing the ones that Melody is doing for a swap. Here are the finished products... if I can get the photos to behave. They are fun to make so have a go.

Karin entered hers in the Kilmore Quilter's PinCushion challenge at retreat and hers was voted the winner. Well done Karin, a deserved win. It's a beautiful piece of work.

FLORAL fRIDAY

Today I would like to join Bronwyn with Floral Friday, this is my Cherokee Rose,  a beautiful pure white single climbing Rose, it is one of my Favorites, it has glossy green foliage, and is climbing over an arch in our garden, I believe it is the native flower of Georgia. I have a lovely close up Photo of it but must learn how to add extra photos to my post. I would like to add a poem also.      " Roses that briefly live, joy be your dower.   Blest be the fate that gives one perfect hour.  And though too soon you die, in your dust glows, something the passer by knows was a Rose"                                              Posted by PicasaWe can complain that Rose bushes have thorns--- or rejoice that thorn bushes have Roses.

Teddy Bears Picnic Naughty Fred

This is Naughty Little Fred, he so much wanted to go on the Picnic today, but after getting dressed in his nie warm jumper he went climbing the tree, then could not get down again, I think he missed all the fun. I made Fred quite a few years ago. Pop over to "The House On The Side Of The Hill" for other Picnic Goers.

Tuesday Treasure Toby

This Is Toby Our lovely Golden Retriever who died at this time last year aged 15 years. Toby did not have a mean bone in his body, he loved all people and creatures great and small. People would stop us in the street to tell him how beautiful he was, he got to expect it, and was very disappointed if anyone walked on by without stopping for a chat. We miss Toby so much, but if Dogs have a Heaven, there is one thing I know, old Tobe has a wonderful Home.
