This past weekend I joined Kilmore Quilters at Maldon for a weekend of sewing. We were able to visit this lovely shop and because the group is very lucky to be given a discount over the weekend it is no hardship to visit and spend up big.
This is the outside and..
this is the inside. There were some fabulous quilts hanging up, one that I didn't get a photo of but was tempted to get the kit ( couldn't justify the dollars but if it's there next year who knows) It was from a book called something like " Quilts from Atlantis" and the fabrics were all blue swirly ones as well as very intricate patterned ones.
These are my purchases. The red and the one under it are to finish off and back "Just Plain Nuts" ( stayed tuned), I got a half jelly roll ( 20 strips of fabric) and that will become a baby quilt, and the ladybugs will go with the two fabrics next to it for another baby quilt. While on retreat I was sent a picture ( ultrasound) of the baby that one is going to. Christopher's best friend and his wife are expecting in Nov near when we lost Christopher so I think he is sending babies to bring joy to sad days. That's my boy!
This is an iron board caddy which was the Friday night project. Just need to sew the pincushion on.
This was a fun project. I sewed 16 of my Hamilton Place stars while away so only 13 more to complete. We also sewed some items for the trade table for the quilt show in October as well as some blankets for a hospital in Albury ( ?) to wrap stillborn bubs in. All in all a successful retreat.
Came home, caught up on the ironing and the watched Eurovision. Go Denmark, lovely song.
what a lovely old building and to contain all that loveliness!
