Hope that the picnic is on today as Basil is all rugged up with his scarf and anxious to join in. He is a "Teddyworks" pattern that I was going to make but ended up handing over to Roma. He is supposed to have a cap, a jacket and a suitcase which I promised I would make for him but as you can see he is still sporting the fluffy scarf that Roma made him to keep him warm.

Friday night sew in
Last night was the first night that I joined in with the FNSI. I didn't manage to stitch anything but I did sew in a LOT of thread ends. The purple border is for my " mocha " quilt which is a quilt as you go class that I have been doing every month since June. Next month I put it all together and I can't wait. As you can see from the pile of threads on top I had a lot of ends to sew in.
The other two are blocks 1 and 2 of "My Town" BOM from Homespun magazine, and I decided to sew most of the applique by machine so more ends to get rid of. This BOM is a tribute to Starlight Foundation which grants wishes to chronically sick kids. and a charity close to my heart.
Hopefully next month I will actually have some stitching to sew.

Tootles is on holidays and wants to come to the picnic
It's school holidays and Tootles is sitting protecting my beautiful wins from Michelle and Melody. The choccies have now disappeared into my tummy ( sorry Tootles was eying them off) and I just adore the fabric that was sent with the pattern and buttons. I can see my cupcake queen daughter snaffling part of this!
Tootles is a Teddyworks pattern and I think he looks pretty snazzy in his overalls and with his school bag all ready. He usually sits with a pull -a-long duck but I think now he's a school boy he may have to give that up. Join in the picnic here

Congratulations Liz
Liz has been really lucky this week winning two blog giveaways including this gorgeous pattern from Michelle at Rag Tag Stitchin.
She won it for bringing her bears, Walter and Rufuss, on the Teddy Bears Picnic at Mel's blog.

This bear was also wanting to come to the picnic but got lost in Picasa wonderland! His hands have lead shot in them so he can hang over door knobs and the like and he really is a lazy boy at all times. Join us at Melody's for the picnic
bears at the picnic
This is Walter and he was made by the Swan HillBear Company. He's a bit of a sad sack as you can see having had a few patches and a few tears mended. How could anyone resist taking him home? I sure couldn't and I think he needs a few friends to share a picnic with
This is Rufuss, a Cottage Collectable, who was given to me by Dot to accompany me home to England when I went to farewell my Dad. He travelled in my back pack and was a big help through what was a draining time. As you can see he also hasa Santa hat that he wears any season he can.
