TPG quilt show

Yesterday Rosalie and I attended the TPG quilt show which is still on today if you can make it. Here are a few of the quilts. Just love this as it is blue!

This was made using a ? son's drawings. He was 4 1/2 years old when they were drawn. What a keepsake for the artist. Can you see Spiderman quilted in to the train block?

This was a bit amazing. We both looked at it and it was as flat as... I then got the camera in position and lo and behold it really is 3D. Stunning.

This was the one I voted for as my favourite. It was beautifully worked and it has a butterfly so what more can I say. Actually on a walk later with DH a butterfly came across us both and briefly landed on my hand before flying away so I felt that my DS1 had just given me a kiss.

These were the spoils from the trade table. Some stencils for FMQ, a butterfly bag and a panel that I am doing a class on so now I will be able to make the quilt bigger as I will have 2 panels.

I have started putting the AHHHH' together. Realised that the diamonds are longer than they are wide ( maths was never my strong point!) so if I had made it 10 x 10 it would have been huge so this one will be 9 x 6 and that leaves me with 8 short to make another the same size. Dilemma... not really . I am going to order 8 more from Tonya and then I will have enough.

This is of course what has to come out at the end of the sewing process.

And this!

For photos of the Loving Indigo go to Kilmore quilters Facebook page ... they are stunning.

Loving Indigo

Today I visited Ballan( Millrose Cottage) and saw the amazing quilts made by Shigeko Asada. No pictures as I always forget my camera and not sure how to use the phone to take them but I'm sure if you visit Millrosie there will be something on it and I know that sometime soon Kilmore Quilters will post some photos... I went with Anika and Karin and they snapped away happily. If you can spare the time this weekend it is well worth a visit. I was almost in tears by the last 3 quilts so it had a profound effect on me.
All for me this time. Boring I know but just a heads up really.

AHHH ahhhh ahhhh....

... remember these stack(101 in total) AHHHH's well I spent about two days cutting and sewing...

..these triangles to add onto the AHHHH's to make diamonds...

... here are just a few diamonds. I still have 30 to go before I can start sewing the big 6" diamonds  and putting it together.

This is what will go in between. I have a feeling that I don't have enough of that fabric so may have to do a couple of rows in a different colour. I was inspired to put this together after seeing Tonya from Hillbilly Handiworks put her together like this. It will be my Allianz quilt(think of the ad for insurance!)

After this is put together I am going to join in with Kilmore's latest challenge. Yes I have succumbed. I saw Lillabelle Lanes La Passacaglia quilt and really wanted to do it but chickened out. 6 months down the track, I have the Millefiore book and a starter pack of the papers so La Passacaglia with Mr Penrose here I come. Well starting in July if I can hold out that long.
For those in Australia have a good long weekend.
